Basically, this means that they are free to use your work, but not to the exclusion of other publishers who may also want to secure an opportunity for you through exploitation. This means that other publishers can enter into non-exclusive agreements with you to use your copyrights without violating the non-exclusive agreement with the other publisher.

Copyright protects your content from being copied without your permission. Briefly, under the Copyright Act 1957, a person who owns a copyright in a work in his name is considered the owner of the work.

The copyright belongs to the author of the original work. An original work is one that has not been copied and has been written from the heart.

Copyright does not protect someone's actions or ideas, nor does it prevent others from copying and pasting text without the prior permission of the copyright owner.Copyright is valid whether registered or unregistered. Nevertheless, it is better to register the work, as the government will issue a certificate that the person is the original author of the work, and such works cannot be challenged in court.

Self Publishing India provides copyright registration with the Government Copyright Office, Delhi via an online application along with two physical copies of the work to the Copyright Department. This is the most Vital part of publishing. An unedited manuscript not only annoys the reader, but also tarnishes the author's reputation. Editing requires looking carefully at each sentence and making sure it is well designed and serves its purpose. We have a highly experienced and talented English, Hindi and regional language editorial team to help you on your writing journey.

There are three types of editing services:-

1. Proofreading: This is the basic type of editing. Spelling mistakes, Punctuation errors, word capitalization are entertained in this type of editing. This is done by single editor on single layer and ensures about 75% accuracy.

2. Copy editing: This is the superior and most recommended type of editing. In this editing, the prime focus is on grammar and vocabulary. It is done by two different editors and accuracy is about 95%.

3. Substantive or In line editing: Under this editing, the editor has the power to omit, delete, replace paragraphs and characters from the book which he finds jarring or boring. This editing includes rewriting the script. It is done by a single editor and accuracy is about 98%.

The total time spent in the editing service depends on the total number of words in the project. Note that editors, being human, will miss some mistakes. Although our experts review the entire manuscript after editing, it is recommended that the author review the entire file at least once before approving the next step.
